Welcome to MAHITI

MAHITI.ORG provides simple and affordable Information and Communication Technology services based on Free/Open Source Software to civil society. We specialize in multi-platform, multi-lingual web, intranet, multimedia and kiosk applications.

We have worked with 100 voluntary organisations over the last 6 years on various publishing, messaging, e-commerce, knowledge management, collaboration, and advocacy projects. We have also held numerous technical and non-technical trainings.

Mahiti Lays New Foundations
Mahiti Infotech and sister organisation Murray Culshaw Consultancy have commissioned a brand new office building in North Bangalore. We ceremoniously made the first scratches in the earth during a Bhoomi Pooja at the building plot.

Mahiti is NGO-in-a-Box, South Asia hub Mahiti has been chosen as the South Asia hub for the NGO-in-a-Box, a set of Free and Open Source Software tools selcted for use by NGOs. Over the next two years Mahiti will distribute 1600 NGO-in-a-Box CDs and conduct a series of 8 workshops to promote FOSS tools among NGOs. For more visit http://ngoinabox.mahiti.org

DeBrief for American India Foundation Mahiti completed a management information system designed to help the American India Foundation track their  Digital Equaliser project in Indian Schools.

Burma Guide to Rights and Democracy Mahiti helped Burma IT Group, Delhi to build an OSI funded Burma Guide to promote Burmese rights and democracy. This database also available on a Live GNU/Linux CD.Burma Guide

Ecommerce Handbooks for the Indian SSI Sector
University of Manchester's Institute for Development Policy and Management produced an Agency Handbook and an Enterprise Handbook for Indian Small Scale Industries in partnership with Mahiti.   • Kind of got infected by the blogging virus after Asia Source, and that prompted me into experimenting with a number of blogs on Blogger.com. This is a useful site because of the features it offers (multiple blogs, different subjects, one dash-board for control, etc).

  • when I type letter, it goes from left to right as normal, but while i start to type % or (.... (esp. When I type formula) it goes from right to left.
